- A desire to obey the elders and submit to them (Heb. 13:17). The elders have the responsibility to feed the flock and when opportunities are provided for such, we should want to take advantage of them.
- A desire to grow in our knowledge (2 Pet. 3:18). There’s no better way to grow in knowledge than to put forth the effort in Bible study.
- A desire to put God first (Mat. 6:33). Our actions show where our priorities are.
- A desire to exhort others and be exhorted as we all face difficulties throughout every week (Heb. 3:13).
- A desire to set our minds on things above (Col. 3:2).
- A desire to deny ourselves and things we want to do in order to take time for God (Luke 9:23).
